From Prien to the Herreninsel and Castle. Very nice short trip, a must do if you visit Prien. Visiting the castle with a guided tour is a must. Full review by 771olivierh

What a good question. For regional and local trains there really isn't much difference but for the longer-distance trains (ICE, IC, EC, etc.) first class buys you a somewhat bigger seat, more legroom and a usually less-crowded car. Regardless of whether you choose first or second class you should be sure to get reserved seats on the longer-distance trains. It saves a lot of headache and hassle when boarding. We've lived in Germany for four years now and the first year traveled only in second class, which was fine. But since then we've always gone first class on the ICE, IC, EC simply because its a little bit more comfortable and usually quieter. Hope this helps.
