The embattled Diamond Sports Group announced a new gambling-related partnership for its local broadcasts of NBA, MLB, NHL games.

In Northeast Ohio, Diamond operates Bally Sports Ohio, the television home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Bally Sports Great Lakes, which had broadcast Cleveland Guardians games for many years but will no longer next season. The networks will be rebranded FanDuel Sports Network Ohio and FanDuel Sports Network Great Lakes, respectively.

Bally Sports North, which has been broadcasting Timberwolves, Twins and Wild games since 2021, was officially rebranded FanDuel Sports on Monday.

After years of frustrations, Diamond Sports Group's Bally Sports is rebranding as FanDuel Sports Network, including in Detroit.

As part of a commercial partnership between Diamond Sports Group, the parent company of the Bally regional networks, and FanDuel, the entire network will be rebranded. So now Bally Sports has become FanDuel Sports Network.

This is a proposed naming-rights deal, which means very little is going to change from the customers' point of view.

Diamond — the parent company of Blues regional telecaster Bally Sports Midwest — has been in bankruptcy proceedings since March 2023, a result of dwindling cable viewership over the years.

Amid Diamond Sports Group’s bankruptcy proceedings, FanDuel made the announcement that the name of the channels will change on October 21.
