If you bought green onions from Trader Joe's recently, there's a chance that you should toss it due to a salmonella outbreak. Here's what you need to know.

Church Brothers Farms issued a voluntary recall of 1,271 cases of green onions sold in a limited number of U.S. and Canada retailers.

A recall has been issued due to some green onions being contaminated with salmonella. Check to see if the Trader Joe's in your state was impacted.

Green onions add flavor and color to many dishes such as stir-fries, potato salad, and in spreads or dips. If you have the vegetable in your refrigerator, you may want to check the label—green onions have been recalled in states across the U.

Trader Joe's scallions recently tested positive for salmonella, and have been pulled as part of a recall effort. Make sure you didn't buy any of those affected.
