Chevy Chase has a reputation for saying exactly what’s on his mind. The comedic actor and famed “Saturday Night Live” alum did just that when he attended a screening of “Saturday Night,” according to the film’s director Jason Reitman.

In his dramatic recounting of the frenzied debut episode of SNL back in the fall of 1975, Reitman cast Cory Michael Smith as Chase. The writer-director said he “tried to identify one thing” about each cast member when writing the film.
