Mel Kiper has a plan for the New York Giants, but it involves Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy instead of a 2025 NFL Draft prospect.

The New York Giants played their way out of a top-two pick again. Beating the Indianapolis Colts cost them the No. 1 pick and, with that, a chance to get either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward. Now, GM Joe Schoen will have to think outside of the box.

That the Giants could potentially seek a trade to find their franchise quarterback is a reflection of the lukewarm view of this year’s draft class.

As Kiper and host Evan Canty were discussing the Vikings' potential plans with Sam Darnold, the long-time draft expert suggested McCarthy would be on the trade block. Asked whether the Giants should trade the No. 3 pick to Minnesota for McCarthy, Kiper gave an emphatic yes.

The Giants are looking for a quarterback this offseason and Mel Kiper Jr. thinks they could make a huge move to get one.

Although Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy hasn't taken a snap, he continues to be the subject of trade rumors.
