The No. 24 Navy Midshipmen are undefeated and have been submarining under the radar for most of the season as a College Football Playoff contender. Saturday, the Midshipmen (6-0) travel to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to face historic rival Notre Dame in the program's biggest game in nearly a decade.

With the Black Knights joining the American Athletic Conference in 2024, a conference of which the Mids have been a member since 2015, the teams could be playing twice every year, starting this year.

Notre Dame has beaten Navy in 82 of their 96 meetings going back to 1927. It has won the last six games by an average of 23.5 points. It reflects college football Darwinian theory that the strongest survive.
