Chuck Schumer defended his Senate Democratic leadership role amid calls for his ouster over helping Trump and Republicans avoid a government shutdown.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has postponed a number of U.S. stops on a book tour over safety concerns after outrage among the Democratic base for his vote related to the averted government shutdown.

Over the weekend, a progressive organizing group called on Schumer to step aside as Democratic leader of the Senate.

Sunny Hostin was not too keen on Chuck Schumer's recent choice. The New York Senator went on The View on Tuesday, March 18 and he defended his decision to vote for the Republican-led spending bill last week as well as his position as Senate Minority Leader and promoted his new book Antisemitism in America: A Warning.
