Headlining a list of changes to the San Francisco coaching staff, is the long-awaited promotion of Klay Kubiak to offensive coordinator after four seasons with the 49ers, a move that was delayed as the team needed to satisfy the Rooney Rule requirements.

The San Francisco 49ers have promoted assistant Klay Kubiak into the offensive coordinator role that had been vacant the past two seasons and replaced Brian Griese as quarterbacks coach. Coach Kyle Shanahan announced several changes and additions to his coaching staff on Tuesday after previously hiring Robert Saleh as defensive coordinator to replace the fired Nick Sorensen and Brant Boyer as special teams coach

The 49ers announced shortly after the end of their season that they planned to make Klay Kubiak their new offensive coordinator and they officially announced the move on Tuesday.
