The initial diagnosis for Luis Gil’s lat injury wasn’t good news for the Yankees. Thursday’s update from general manager Brian Cashman wasn’t any better. It’s not that Cashman had new information. He confirmed that Gil has a high-grade strain and that his no-throw period will extend for at least six weeks.
