A new vaccine that could stop people from developing the vomiting bug norovirus is on trial in the UK. The mRNA vaccine from Moderna will enter the final stages of testing within the next two weeks, according to health officials,

There are currently no licensed vaccines to treat norovirus, a highly contagious virus that causes sickness and diarrhoea.

It is hoped a study will show the jab is effective against the highly infectious disease which puts the NHS under "huge strain" and costs taxpayers around £100m a year.
