Romanians will head to the polls on Sunday in a high-stakes rerun of the country’s presidential election, almost six months after the country’s top court invalidated the original vote over allegations of Russian interference.

Romanians vote in the first round of a presidential election on Sunday, with a second round run-off expected to be held on May 18. There are 11 candidates vying for the presidency, whose powers include oversight of foreign policy and defence spending.
