The suspect arrested in connection to the New Year’s Day triple homicide in State Line made his first appearance in court on Friday afternoon. 37-year-old Drexler Johnson was arrested on Thursday morning and charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder.

Virgil Thew, who was accused in a New Lisbon triple homicide, has been found. The 47-year-old is now in police custody. Thew faces three charges of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 33-year-old Elizabeth Kolba,

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to the 1500 block of Sawmill Road or Par Road 37, just off of Leonard Chapel Road in Amite about an apparent triple homicide around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9. One suspect is currently in the sheriff’s office’s custody at this time.

Virgil G. Thew is charged in the shooting deaths of a woman and two girls in New Lisbon. State and federal authorities continue to search for Thew.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. deputies with St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an apparent triple homicide at 1599 Sawmill Road in Amite.

According to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, Virgil Thew, a man wanted in connection to a triple homicide, is in custody. The arrest ends an over week-long manhunt for Thew, who was wanted in connection with the deaths of an adult and two children in New Lisbon.

Two of the victims of a triple homicide in St. Helena Parish were children, a source tells WAFB. The victims, who were all related, include a one-year-old, a ten-year-old and an adult, the source said.
