The strike by 33,000 workers at Boeing will continue after rank-and-file union members rejected an offer from the company and decided to remain on the picket lines instead.

Boeing’s machinists on Wednesday voted to reject a contract offer that would have ended their strike, which has now dragged on for more than a month. Roughly 33,000 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Districts 751 and W24,

According to the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), 64% of workers voted to reject the new contract.

The vote, hours after Boeing reported a $6.1 billion loss, will extend a nearly six-week-long strike at factories where the company makes its best-selling commercial plane.
