PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby scored twice, including 2:35 into overtime, and the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 at PPG Paints Arena to end a six-game winless streak Thursday. Crosby drove to the net alone, stopping just short of the crease to lift a wrist shot over Lukas Dostal.

The Penguins are off to a slog. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2022, haven’t won a series since 2018, and tickets, parking and concessions are expensive. Aside from nostalgia, there isn’t much to entice people into PPG Paints Arena.
