Griner announced the move in a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday night, and her agent, Lindsay Kagawa Colas, confirmed to The Associated Press that the star center would sign a one-year deal with Atlanta.
Griner, who has spent her entire pro-basketball career with the Phoenix Mercury, now comes to Atlanta in “one of the most stunning free agency signings in league history,” ESPN said.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania and Alexa Philippou, 10-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner has agreed to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Dream. The 6-foot-9 center has spent her entire 11-season career with the Mercury. For her career, she has averaged 17.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.
