A Palm Beach County man was arrested after making threats against President Donald Trump on Facebook. Shannon Atkins was arrested last Friday after someone in Okeechobee reported his threats to the FBI.

FBI director nominee Kash Patel outlined his vision for the department, noting he wants to “let good cops be cops.” Patel, who is appearing for a confirmation hearing in the Senate on Thursday,

FBI spokesperson Kevin Wheeler confirmed to WMBF News that agents were at a home on the 1200 block of 13th Avenue in Conway. WMBF News also independently confirmed it was the home of former Horry County Councilman Orton Bellamy. It’s unclear what brought the agency to the home, but Wheeler noted agents were conducting “court-authorized activity.”
