Wednesday’s game between the Celtics and Clippers was highly entertaining. Boston required overtime to win despite having Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White in the lineup. The Clippers were down four starters (James Harden, Norman Powell, Kawhi Leonard, and Ivica Zubac), but the available players didn’t use that as an excuse.
Playing without six of their top eight rotation players, Derrick Jones Jr., Kevin Porter Jr and Amir Coffey lead a gutty effort as the hosts push the reigning champs until the end in a 117-113
Norman Powell scores 23 points, James Harden adds 19 and the Clippers follow up their 59-point blowout win by holding Portland to 37% shooting in a 118-89 road win.
Powell is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Celtics due to back soreness, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports. Powell is in danger of missing his first game since Dec. 4 on Wednesday due to back soreness.
Given the opportunity to become a starter, the 6-foot-4 guard of 10 seasons has helped the Clippers to fifth place in the West with a breakout effort.
