Meteorologists said that just after 5:40 p.m., a “severe thunderstorm” that could generate a tornado was moving near Molalla at 50 mph, according to radar.
The NWS had also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Marion and Clackamas counties that started just before 5 p.m. and lasted until 5:43 p.m. It issued a wind advisory through 4 a.m.

One family’s home was knocked off the foundation during the tornado. This caused their living room and utility room to completely cave in. The family is working to get their belongings out of the home as well as their pets.
