The Trump administration has introduced the CBP Home app, a new platform designed to replace the CBP One app and facilitate the self-deportation of individuals in the U.S. illegally, Customs and Border Protection announced.

The Trump administration billed the revamped app as a win-win. Self-deportation, DHS argued, is the “safest” option for illegal migrants that forgoes them being arrested at large in the community and saves vital time and resources for federal immigration authorities.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has launched a new app where migrants can indicate they plan to “self-deport.” The CBP Home app appears to replace the Biden-era CBP One app, where migrants could make appointments at a port of entry to seek asylum.
