Chicago fire officials said a man was killed and another man was injured on the city's West Side in a shooting not far from an elementary school.

A garbage truck operator who is a Concealed Carry License holder shot two would-be robbers, one fatally, on the city's West Side early Friday morning, Chicago police said.
