With another Arctic blast on the way for the second time this year, CW39 anchor Sharron Melton joins Chief meteorologist Jonathan Novack who compares to it to 2021’s hard freeze when the city of Houston shut down.

FOX 26 Chief Meteorologist Mike Iscovitz shares an update on the arctic blast headed toward Texas and our chance for actually getting snow along with hazardous ice.

A chance of snow showers and sleet has emerged in the forecast. Here are five things we know so far about next week's freezing temperatures.

Houston's first freeze of the year may be over, but another one is headed our way next week—and so is the possibility of some snow. "There are no bones about it, next week looks pretty cold," said meteorologist Eric Berger of Space City Weather in Houston.

Scattered mainly light rain showers Wednesday with the best chance south of I-10 near the coast. Thursday will be partly sunny and mainly dry with a 10% rain chance. For next week, long-range models indicate the chance of another arctic blast early next week which could bring the coldest air so far this season!

Arctic blast number two will arrive early Saturday morning and it will stay cold through the middle of next week. There is a chance for more wintry precipitation next week.

With the arctic air about to invade North Texas, the question is if the Dallas-Fort Worth area will see snow again.
