The Springfield Police Department said that the Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) received information that a 13-year-old boy who had an active arrest warrant had an illegal firearm on Thursday afternoon. Detectives began surveillance in the area of Lombard Street and saw the suspect with two other people on the 600 block of Main Street.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A man was arrested in Springfield on Wednesday after police seized a firearm and cocaine during a traffic stop. Police stopped 41-year-old Jason Patterson near the intersection of Union Street and East Columbus Avenue.
