According to NFL insider Ed Werder, Eberflus has emerged as a candidate for the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator job under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

The Dallas Cowboys hired Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator, according to former ESPN reporter Ed Werder, and it sets up a matchup against his old team.

Eberflus spent seven seasons with the Cowboys, arriving in 2011 as the linebackers coach. He was promoted to defensive passing game coordinator/linebackers coach in 2016, a role he kept for two seasons until leaving to become the Colts’ defensive coordinator.
