In his first week in office, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered a 90–day freeze on U.S. foreign aid to review whether the distribution aligned with his foreign policy. Ukraine was among the many countries receiving the aid distributed through the U.

"US military assistance to Ukraine continues under previously approved aid packages. Please do not panic," wrote Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
