The Army West Point Black Knights reached a new place in program history with a win over Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Army Black Knights arrived in Shreveport ahead of its big matchup against Louisiana Tech on Saturday in the Independence Bowl. Players and coaches were greeted by staff of the Independence Bowl and were welcomed with Mardi Gras beads.

The 2024-25 college football postseason continues on Saturday, Dec. 28 with Army and Louisiana Tech meeting in the Independence Bowl. This game takes place at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, La. This is the third all-time meeting between the Black Knights and Bulldogs on the gridiron. Army holds a 2-0 series edge over Louisiana Tech.

From 1999 to 2015, Navy flat-out dominated Army winning all but one game. That stretch of wins help put the Midshipmen ahead of the Black Knights in the all-time head-to-head matchup, which currently favors Navy at 62-55-7.
