Japan's Audio-Technica is celebrating 50 years of making headphones and to mark the occasion, the company is releasing the ATH-ADX3000 high-fidelity open-back model.

The chunky over-ear headphones are traditional and therefore wired, with an extremely comfortable-looking design that should make them perfect for long, relaxed listening sessions at home. Each one will have been hand-crafted in Machida, Tokyo, according to Audio-Technica, from in-house components.

Audio-Technica has been making headphones for 50 years, and to mark the anniversary, the firm has created a pair of headphones that'll make any audiophile drool. The new Audio-Technica ATH-ADX3000 have been hand-crafted in Tokyo as "a testament to Audio-Technica's six decades of audio innovation", according to the company.

Audio-Technica is celebrating 50 years since its first headphones launch (the AT-700 series in 1974) and to mark this golden anniversary, the Japanese brand has released the ATH-ADX3000 open-back headphones.
