Mumbai: In the murder case of former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, the Crime Branch detained 32-year-old Sujit Sushil Singh from Ludhiana on October 25. Sujit is an associate of the key accused,

Sujit Singh is the person who introduced the alleged mastermind, Zeeshan Akhtar, to the arrested accused Nitin Sapre and Ran Kanaujia, who were earlier roped in to eliminate Baba Siddique.

As per the Mumbai crime branch which is investigating the case, a "module" based in Thane, comprising Nitin Sapre and Ram Kanoujia, initially received the contract to kill Siddique but later backed out of disagreement over payment and also considering the NCP leader's clout.

Delhi Police Special Cell arrested seven suspected shooters from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who were allegedly planning an attack in Rajasthan. This follows the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai.

The arrested Sujit Kumar Singh is said to have been linked with absconding Zeeshan Akhtar, one of the alleged masterminds of the killing.
