The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers will forever be intertwined as trade partners after the Luka Doncic deal, but they may have another deal up their sleeves. ESPN insider Tim MacMahon believes that the Mavs and Lakers could make another deal this summer surrounding center Daniel Gafford.

The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the 2025 offseason with plenty of questions. Not only do they have to make upgrades to the roster that was overwhelmed by the Minnesota Timberwolves, but they also have to make sure they retain their contributors.

Luka Dončić, by all accounts, planned to sign a five-year, supermax extension with the Dallas Mavericks this offseason. Those plans were scuttled when the Mavericks traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

According to Tim MacMahon, Luka Doncic has now turned the Dallas Mavericks page and locked in on his future with the Los Angeles Lakers.
