The suicide of Panchal on December 26 has snowballed into a controversy after the contractor’s purported suicide note named Raju Kapanur, considered close to Kharge.

Kharge dismissed the allegation, stating that his name was not mentioned in the suicide note and called for a police investigation into the matter

Sachin Panchal, a contractor, allegedly ended his life by lying in front of an approaching train. He accused Priyank Kharge's close aide of threatening him over money. The BJP has been demanding a CBI probe into the matter.
