Jul 15, 2015 · I'm looking at buying a Gary Fisher Sugar 1 (that's what it is listed as anyway) and I want to know how to tell it is actually a "Sugar 1". That being said, I am also wondering what the difference is between the Sugar 1 and Sugar 3+ or 4+, since I could save a few bucks and pick one of those up if the differences aren't that great.

#3 · Sep 13, 2014 I looked at buying similar bike a few years back. My research then showed that Gary Fisher Sugars were notorious for chainsuck, not a complete deal killer, but always a bummer when climbing a steep sprint and coming to an instant halt.

Jan 1, 2015 · I found a Gary Fisher Sugar 3 for $200. I seems like a pretty good deal so I'll probably jump on it. Do any of you know what i should look for or if i should stay away from it all together? BTW im 6' tall and i plan to do a mix of urban and downhill trail/mountain riding.

Feb 3, 2004 · Ok im new to the mountain bike thing, and having just purchased an 03 Sugar 3+ i was playing around with the rear shock adjustment and just wondered if it would be possible to set up some sort of quick release mechanism, like the wheels, instead of a allen key and nut? you think it would be safe to try?...i cant see y it wouldnt work. also how the heck do you adjust it from 2.8 to 4.1" without ...

Jan 6, 2019 · I still have a 2003 Gary Fisher Sugar 3+ in my stable, on which I replaced the fork with a RockShox Recon Silver. They still make them for 1 1/8" straight tubes and 26". Not a bad Solo Air fork, actually. But it looks like the 2019 version is only 100mm. The version I bought new last year from Jenson USA is 130mm.

Aug 14, 2002 · Thanks DHS, I think I am going to go with the 03 3+. I got an email back from a Gary Fisher tech guy and he said the 03 3+ has a Truvativ ISIS BB and the Bontrager ISIS Race crankset. On a lesser note he also said that they used more ZR9000 in the frame for 03 so it is a little lighter than the 02.

May 29, 2012 · My brother has a 2002 Gary Fisher Sugar 3+ which he has owned since it was new. He "has not" maintained it very well and recently wanted to start riding trails. Well he has a problem with the chain skipping in "second gear" in back. We have replaced the cassette, and chain because both were trashed.
