Biased opinion as my mother works there and I attended, but I would say coming straight out of high school, metro is still a good option, unlike the university of Minnesota, most faculty aren't research oriented and many are adjunct/community staff so the professors are actually performing tasks in their field of study.

By getting licensed and certified out of high school you are Saving so much money. imagine having to be a tech in training getting paid 25-50% less to work just because your “in traning” when you could come right out of high school making a technicians wages

Dec 20, 2020 · Virginia tech is a competitive school but wether you’re a 4.0 student or a 3.0 student what matters is how well you adjust to college classes. Engineering is tough but I would recommend VT as one of the best schools to go to if you wanna get into engineering.

Feb 1, 2023 · Tech is a RLLY big school. Because it's so big it can be harder to get specific attention from teachers, but they have tutoring that you can go to. This means giving up a lunch period or periods 9/10 or 1/2 depending on your schedule.
What colleges does FAANG/big tech actively recruit from?
Any top 25-30 US News Ranked school overall, top 10 liberal arts, and any top 25-30 CS program. Prestigious high ranked schools with mediocre CS departments will also place well like Vanderbilt, WashU, Emory, UVA, Notre Dame, Georgetown type of schools that don’t really have high ranked departments in CS will still place a high proportion of their class in FAANG, MSFT.

Jul 25, 2020 · We also smoked during lunch and after school. Our smoking location was McDonald's across the street from the school. It was the perfect location to smoke and eat for when the munchies come. One day, I entered the school and had my bag searched, they found a blunt I was saving for after school and I got a 10 day suspension.

Sep 17, 2022 · Paragon occupied the higher end of high end and wasn’t so much about auditioning equipment as it was displaying crazy expensive hardware. Overture was happy to give me a source and space to audition a bunch of <$200 headphones on a weeknight (ended up with the Grado SR80).

It completely depends on the school. For me it was my start into tech theatre. I didn't make a career of it, but I still do tech 40 years later. On the other hand, my son was in marching band in high school. The school had no theatre, no tech program, only a couple of acting classes, but had a marching band that was competitive around the state.
